THE BREED

The Braque dog is one of the most respected Pointers in Europe and is now being introduced to North America.  Seen rarely in the US and Canada, this dog has unique features that make it a handsome, great pet and an excellent upland bird dog.

Our kennel features dogs that are not only great bird dogs, but great household pets.

THE KENNEL

Our kennel is located in northwestern Pennsylvania in the Allegheny Mountains, hence the name “Chenil d’Allegheny” (Kennel of the Allegheny).  Saint Mary’s, Pennsylvania is a small rural town which has deep roots in hunting. Our kennel is registered with NAVHDA (The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association).

All of our dogs are all registered with NAVHDA, and imported dogs are also registered with one of the following:   Societe Centrale Canine (France), The Hungarian Kennel Club (MEOE), Budapest,  or The Polish Society for Dog Registration (Poland). Offering up to one or two litters per year, we do take reservations to acquire a pup.

Each dog has had its hips x-rayed before breeding.  Only dogs with certified hips are bred. Stud Service Available.  Dart, our seven year old male, has no hip dysplasia (HD-B), confirmed by Dr Drape, the French expert on hip pathology for Braques.

Lucky will be x-rayed when he turns two, and cannot be bred until hips certified.
